The Way He Forgives

"We only understand grace when we remember that God was offering it to us while we were still spitting in his face. When we see that God's mighty love for us is not swayed even if we were to take advantage of it - when we see that it is like kicking against Mt. Everest - only then do we really lose the taste for sin. The heart bent toward rebellion is unconvinced of His unconditional love. Shadows of guilt combined with fear of punishment promise to keep us safe (out of sin), but again and again they fail to deliver... because in the heat of the moment our fleshly passions overwhelm. But when our passions are quieted by grace, we become disarmed - totally broken and completely satisfied by pure love." - Garrett Jones
